Are you tired of the usual Christmas markets all the same and looking for an experience that will bring some warmth and novelty to your Roman December? We have news that will make your eyes sparkle (and your stomach growl with hunger!). Imagine being able to teleport across the ocean without having to catch a plane at Fiumicino.
OnSunday, December 14, Rome lights up with Feliz Navidad, a pop-up event that promises to turn a classic winter Sunday into a vibrant South American “fiesta.”
It’s not just about eating (although, trust me, there’s great food), but a true festival combining wellness, artisan shopping, music and family fun.
Here’s everything you need to know not to miss the most caliente event of the month.
Alternative Christmas market: a dip into South American warmth
The idea behind Feliz Navidad is simple but ingenious: to bring the Christmas spirit of South America to Rome. While here we are used to fake snow and mulled wine, in South America Christmas comes in the summer.
This event aims to recreate that euphoria, lightness and human warmth typical of Latin culture.
Forget the rigidity and get ready for an environment divided into three thematic areas where you can breathe in a reimagined Christmas.
It’s the perfect opportunity for those who want to experience a different Sunday amid vibrant colors, exotic scents and welcoming smiles.
Food experience: empanadas, tacos and tropical drinks

Let’s talk about the part that foodies are most interested in: the food. South American cuisine is conquering more and more palates in Rome, and for this event two true institutions of the industry, beloved on social media, have been called in:
- Ceibo Sapori: the masters of Empanadas. If you’ve never tasted their stuffed pasta caskets, this is the time. They prepare express and authentic dishes that will make you feel like you’re in Argentina.
- El Jalapeño Taqueria: a name that is a guarantee for those who love the flavors of Mexico. Tacos and spicy (and not) specialties to shake up your day.
There will be no shortage of the Tropical Bar, the focal point for quenching your thirst with select beers and cocktails designed especially for this decidedly out-of-the-ordinary Christmas event.
And if you want to learn the trade secrets, there’s even a Margarita Drink Lesson!
A packed program: yoga, tango and creative workshops
Don’t think you’re coming here just to eat and run. Feliz Navidad offers an incredible schedule of activities designed to keep you there all day long.
Here are some of the experiences you can enjoy:
- Wellness: start your day with a Yoga Masterclass to relax your body and mind, or indulge in lifting massages to rejuvenate.
- Creativity and Beauty: there will be corners dedicated to Nail Art, Eyelash & Eyebrows and even a Tattoo & Piercing Corner for the daring. If you love crafts, don’t miss the Lost Wax Workshop.
- Entertainment: the soundtrack of the day is provided by Live DJ Sets with constant sound vibes. But the real show will be the Tango & mariachi Show, for a total immersion in Latin culture.
- Shopping: up to 15 selected designers will display their creations. This is the perfect opportunity to find that unique Christmas gift you’ve been looking for.
- Trivia: Tarot card readings to peek into 2026 and a Cuban Cigar Class for enthusiasts.
Fun for the little ones: kids area and Santa Claus.
Got kids and afraid they’ll be bored? Don’t worry. Feliz Navidad is a family-friendly event with an entire area dedicated to the little ones:
- Kids Lab: creative workshops divided into 4 time slots (11:00 am, 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 4:00 pm) to stimulate their imagination.
- Christmas PhotoBooth: a professional photo set operating from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, where you can take a mini shoot of 10 souvenir photos.
- Animation: activities designed for them to play while you enjoy a margarita or massage.
Please note: Places for workshops and photo shoots are limited, so reservations are super recommended!
Location: the magic of Le Formiche Corner

It is worth spending a few words on the location, because it is an integral part of the experience. Le Formiche Corner is not just an event space. It is a recovered historic building: an old dredge on the banks of the Tiber, a jewel of Roman industrial archaeology that has found a second life.
The structure has been redeveloped with careful handiwork, using salvaged materials and refurbished decommissioned furniture. The result is a space that blends design, functionality and history. A “blank sheet” environment where creativity has no boundaries, perfect for hosting an eclectic event like this.
