Peter Pan told through lights, music and dance
Ballet began as an art form created to tell a story and entertain the audience through complicated and hypnotic dance steps. The story of Peter Pan was first presented in the theater in 1904 in London by J.M.Barret, who through the adventures of the young boy and other characters, tried to engage the audience to a faraway world where the responsibilities and worries of adults do not exist.
The fairy tale was a huge success, so much so that it was repurposed in the form of musicals and ballets. The fantastical plot, full of quirky characters and twists and turns, manages to adapt to any art form and excite audiences. “Ballet of Lights,” gives a unique twist to the fairy tale, thanks to the dancers’ graceful movements and extravagant costumes, illuminated by colorful lights. Externals from Mahler’s 4th Symphony, Brahms’s Hungarian Dance No. 5 or Smetana’s La Moldova are just some of the themes featured in this magical ballet that, from New York all the way to Madrid, enchanted and made all those present become children again.
“Ballet of Lights” takes flight and arrives in Rome straight from Neverland. A one-of-a-kind show that will transform – only for a few evenings on specific dates – the city walls into a fairy place populated by pirates and mermaids. Follow the second star to the right until morning and you’ll arrive at Teatro Ghione, the fantastic venue hosting the evocative ballet, whose doors will open about 30 minutes before the start. All lost spectators will be assigned seats based on the order of arrival and the type of ticket purchased.
