What is “We Call It Ballet?”
It is an innovative show that reimagines classical ballet through technology. This precious homage to the beauty and complexity of classical choreography adds an element as simple as it is magical: dance costumes filled with LED lights. Tights, leotards, tutus that will shine on stage and whose colors will adapt to the scenes of the piece, enhancing the audience’s emotional narrative and visual experience.
Ballet, its narrative and performance
The ballet tradition, which dates back to the Italian Renaissance, reached its apogee during Romanticism and finds new life in this production. In particular, the ballet “The Sleeping Beauty,” which has been telling the story of Aurora, her curse and the kiss of true love since 1890 to the music of Tchaikovsky, will now be performed at “We Call It Ballet” at Teatro Ghione.
A total of 60 minutes of performance-and not 160 like the original work-will also include narration by a narrator to contextualize the story at some key moments. Small interventions that will make the show easier to understand and that, added to the use of LED lights, will allow you to experience the magic of your favorite fairy tale as you never imagined before!
Pointed bonnets and luminous tutus are ready to take the stage of the beautiful Ghione Theater and let you relive all the magic of “Sleeping Beauty.” As a reminder, doors will open 30 minutes before the start of the experience and seats will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
