An exceptional event on Egyptian civilization
The exhibition “Treasures of the Pharaohs” is one of the most anticipated cultural events of autumn 2025 and all of 2026 in Rome. Hosted in the prestigious Scuderie del Quirinale, it represents a rare opportunity to admire 130 masterpieces from Egypt’s most important museums, including the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, the Luxor Museum, and the Egyptian Museum in Turin. Many of the exhibits on display had never before left Egypt’s borders, making the visit a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.
What to see in the exhibition
The exhibit is divided into six sections that trace a true journey into the heart of the ancient civilization of the pharaohs:
- Gods and Royal Power: Explores the sacred authority of Egyptian rulers.
- Daily life in the Nile Valley: tools, objects and scenes of domestic life.
- Religion and rites: beliefs, temples, practices and rituals that marked time.
- Death and immortality: funerary artifacts, sarcophagi, masks (such as the golden mask of Amenemope), grave goods, and new archaeological discoveries.
- Society and evolution: the complexity of Egyptian social structure, art and economy.
- The latest important finds: including exclusives from the “City of Gold” and the famous “Triad of Mycerinus,” a sculpture made more than 4,500 years ago.
The exhibition is a collaboration between the Supreme Council of Egyptian Antiquities and the Scuderie del Quirinale, thanks to the support of the Italian Embassy in Cairo. Curated by Egyptologist Tarek El Awady and with a catalog edited by Zahi Hawass, it represents the largest loan of artifacts since the end of the historic exhibition at Palazzo Grassi (Venice) in 2002-2003 and strengthens the dialogue between Italy and Egypt in the field of archaeology and cultural diplomacy.
Not to be missed in the exhibition: statues, reliefs, amulets, papyri and objects from the most recent excavations.
A unique journey through history
The exhibition offers an exciting and immersive journey that spans millennia of history: from the birth of the Pharaonic state to the splendor of the New Kingdom to the transformations of post-Pharaonic Egypt. A tale that weaves together art, religion, politics, social life and the most fascinating legends of antiquity.
