Who said you have to go to Munich to dive into Bavarian tradition? From September 19 to 22, Rome’s Oktoberfest starts at the City of the Other Economy. The area inside the Campo Boario of the former Slaughterhouse will be dressed up for four days dedicated to this famous event that draws the attention of millions of people from all over the world every year.
What will be at Rome’s Oktoberfest?
You don’t have to be a beer lover to attend this event, although the so-called “sisters of Munich,” or the Bavarian city’s historic breweries-Hofbräuhaus, Paulaner, Augustiner, Hacker-Pschorr, Löwenbräu, and Spaten-will be present with beers created especially for the event. The “beer garden” will feature 12 bar stations, stands dedicated to typical street food, folk show by Kuni Kumpel, DJ sets and live music. For the first time, an entire area of the festival will be for children’s entertainment. Free painting and recycling workshops are scheduled on Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 8 p.m.

Rome Oktoberfest hours are: Sept. 19 and 20 from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 from noon to 2 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22 from noon to midnight.
