FAI Spring Days 2025 will be held March 22 and 23, marking the 33rd edition of this important event dedicated to Italy’s cultural heritage and landscape. Organized by the Fondo Ambiente Italiano (FAI), these days will offer the opportunity to visit 700 extraordinary places in 360 cities, many of which are usually inaccessible to the public.
How do the Fai Days work?
Participants will be able to explore a wide selection of sites, including historic palaces, villas, churches, castles, museums, art collections, archaeological areas and artisan workshops. Village tours and routes to nature areas, urban parks, botanical gardens and historic gardens will be available. The tours will be animated by FAI Youth Groups and volunteers from the Foundation’s Territorial Network.
Ways to Participate
The full list of open places and how to participate are available on FAI’s official website, and during the visit you can support the Fund’s mission with a donation.
Extraordinary Openings in Rome
Six places in Rome can be visited:
- Palazzo della Valle
- Farnese Palace
- Besso Foundation
- Visconti High School
- Ministry of Culture
- Villa Il Vascello
A short distance from Rome, it is possible to visit Villa Mondragone in Monte Porzio Catone: one of the Tuscolan Villas, built in 1567 and enlarged between 1616 and 1618, with its Giardino Grande and Teatro delle Acque. If we move to Tivoli, not to be missed is Villa Gregoriana (for which reservations are not required). During FAI Days, visitors can discover the Villa’s “romantic greenery” through texts, videos and podcasts accessible via smartphone, which will enrich the visiting experience. In case of particular crowds, admission may not be guaranteed.
These openings offer a unique opportunity to see hidden treasures of Italian heritage with untold tales and unexpected stories. For each place, you will find opening times and access methods on the FAI website.
